How To Fit Wedding Flowers Into Your Budget

There are so many affordable options to fit flowers into any budget. Here are some tips and tricks to get beautiful flowers that don’t break the bank:

Don’t choose what’s  on trend  Pinterest is great, it gave me so many ideas for my vintage wedding a few years ago, however it did give me some “out of budget” ideas for our wedding as well. Pinterest does this to almost every bride that uses it for floral inspiration. When you search wedding flowers, all the photos that show up will be posts that have been pinned thousands and thousands of times, meaning thousands of brides love the style, flowers, colours etc. and have shown their florist that exact same photo. Due to that, those flowers will be higher priced. Flower pricing is based on supply and demand: the more popular the flower and colour, the more expensive.

Special occasions increase the cost of flowers If you are getting married on or during the weeks before a big holiday (Valentines day or Mothers day for example) flowers will be higher in price from the grower due to high demand.  If you are looking to book your wedding next May, get married after Mothers day. Flowers can easily double in price leading up to Mothers day, so you will have to double your wedding flower budget.

Be open minded Share your ideas with your florist, but also be open to what your florist recommends. If your ideas and style do not fit with in your budget, you may have to make a couple changes. Your florist can recommend ways to do this keeping your vision and budget in mind.

Make sure your flower budget is realistic Flowers will not be the cheapest part of your wedding but there are ways to fit them into any budget. If your wedding flowers are not a priority to you and they are at the bottom of your priority list, mention that to your florist and be open to suggestions. Be open about your vision and budget the first time you meet for a consultation and your florist will be able to give you ideas and options to help fit flowers into your special day.

We are not just your Florist

I started Floral Support with one dream in mind; a dream that I would educate as many people about flowers as possible. We started  Floral Support Weddings and Events to supply wholesale flowers and offer a florist to create arrangements for weddings and events. Floral Support is a company that will offer tips and tricks for your flowers at home, in your garden or for weddings and events.

I had one main goal for our Weddings and Events: any bride that contacted us, I tried my best to make sure after we had finished our consultation, the bride would leave with more knowledge about the floral business and would have a better understanding of the flower industry here in Greater Vancouver.

We hope that every bride that has been to one of our consultations, leaves with more knowledge of what BC has to offer with our local flowers. I try my very best to honour our companys name: Floral SUPPORT. I want to help every person that comes in our door, that emails, or calls me, understand why flowers are such a passion for us and we hope it is for you as well.

We do offer wholesale flowers for those who want to make their own arrangements. We do this because we believe everyone should have the opportunity to buy locally grown flowers. We are in the best flower market in Canada, did you know that? There is a whole other world out there, let us show you it!

When we send out our wholesale flower prices to our customers , we do make a note to how much more it would cost if our florist was to make all the arrangements as well. There is so much work when it comes to flowers, so if we fit in your budget, having a florist do everything is worth every penny.
